In the Grand Prix of the Freestyle Tour Fredric Wandres impressed with his victory with Hot Hit OLD with the personal high score of 74.261 percent.

“He is my third iron in the fire, who with his only 11 years sometimes lacks the last strength. He has really developed greatly,” the German runner-up Fredric Wandres praised the Oldenburg gelding.

Olympic rider Renate Voglsang was also full of praise for her 13-year-old gelding Fürst Ferdinand, who had to have his right eye removed in January after a detached retina: “It was the feeling I’ve been waiting for for a long time and now we’ve finally done it: personal best score with 73.609 percent! I always knew he could run this well!”

Voglsang, who had to undergo surgery in September of last year after a slipped disc, is especially pleased with the progress she has made since the tournament in Achleiten in mid-June, where the pair scored 70.565 percent in the Grand Prix: “We needed time after our surgeries, but I notice that the strength is coming back in both of us. In the last few weeks we have worked on many details. Prince Ferdinand has a great attitude, he enjoys the scenery, I can rely on him!”

Stefan Lehfellner can also rely on Roberto Carlos MT. The 12-year-old gelding, owned by his partner Victoria Max-Theurer, once again scored more than 71 percent in his third international Grand Prix and took fourth place behind the third-placed Stefanie Schatz-Weihermüller (GER) on C’est La Vie (71.478%).

Stefan Lehfellner: “He had to find his bearings at the beginning, he was very focused on some playing children. That irritated him so much that he even stopped for a moment and skinned out. Otherwise, the consistency of his performance is impressive for such a young horse, and the nice thing is that he still has so much room for improvement.”
